Yes! We work with you and your little one during this important time. We ask parents to inform our Children’s Atelier Team about your child’s potty training transition prior to coming into the space without a diaper/pull-up. OneSpace reserves the right to request that your child move from underwear to pull-ups if accidents are frequent. We do not accept individual potties in adherence to health and safety guidelines.
-
Parents are welcome to view the Children’s Atelier on the Parent Spy Cam to see how their children are doing!
As parent "ins and outs" can be disruptive for children, we ask that parents do not come in to the Children’s Atelier to settle their child if their child is upset. If your child is unable to settle, our Children’s Atelier Team will let a OneSpace Team Member know that your child is ready to go home, and that Team Member will let you know.
If you feel your child will be unable to settle, you are free to pick them up early! Please do not stress if this happens with your child - it's perfectly normal as children acclimatize to the space!
-
For everyone’s safety we ask that parents remain in the gated cubby area of the Children's Atelier for pick up and drop off only.
-
Parents/guardians are asked to bring nut-free food for their children.
We do have snacks for purchase if food is forgotten or children are still hungry.
Snacktime: 10:30am and 2:30pm
Lunchtime: 12:45pm

About the Children’s Atelier
-
The Children’s Atelier is bright and sunny with lots of windows overlooking the mountains and downtown Vancouver. It is cheerfully designed to encourage imaginative free play for all children.
The Children’s Atelier is fully separated from our coworking space - but parents can still check in on their little ones via the Parent Spy Cam!
-
Our philosophy focuses on the development of the whole child, while ensuring that we provide a safe, engaging and inclusive environment. Through using a child-centered approach, we are able to guarantee that each child’s emotional, physical and behavioural needs are being met. Creating strong bonds with families and the community helps us to support the needs of every child that we welcome into our space. We strongly believe that these are the crucial layers in helping a child to develop in their learning journey.
-
Our environment encourages children’s natural curiosity, we bring real-world materials that are age appropriate and encourage exploration, independence and play. Our space reflects the multiage group and each piece encourages collaborative and independent play.
-
We approach a child's learning using the pedagogy of structured and unstructured play. Children strive in settings where their curiosity and imagination is supported. Through focusing on unstructured & structured play, children are encouraged to develop their creative nature, social skills, confidence, independence and empathy in a pressure-free environment.
