OneSpace: Peace and Productivity

Elizabeth is CEO and Co-Founder of OneSpace. She is a lifelong entrepreneur with a love for creating purposeful spaces that inspire growth. Elizabeth founded OneSpace as a way to help other moms, women, and entrepreneurs find balance and pursue their passions.

OneSpace: Designing A Better Way

Elizabeth imagined, designed, and launched OneSpace in the midst of early motherhood, and with a deep understanding of the struggles of being an introverted entrepreneur, and years before her ADHD diagnosis. While the concept of coworking appealed to her and her way of thinking and working, the execution of traditional coworking space design felt hostile and not at all conducive to getting work done: too many people, too bright, too loud, and not at all welcoming.

The overwhelm that came with being a working mom with young children meant huge parts of Elizabeth’s life simply didn’t “fit” anymore. The first parts to get pushed out were the things that benefited her mental health the most (such as connecting with friends). Working from home became a daily focus struggle between doing household chores and working on her business. Life simply felt much harder than it needed to be.

By identifying the things she needed to find balance and pursue her passions and bringing them together into one location, OneSpace was born. Above all, Elizabeth wanted a place where she and others felt welcomed, comfortable, and supported.

It Starts with a Vibe

Our most-heard feedback (after the plants) is how warm and welcoming OneSpace feels; like you are working from home, but not at home. It is a space run by women who understand exactly what its like to be woken up at 5am, struggle to keep your cool while your child turns feral getting them into a car seat, spill your coffee on your drive over, finally arrive and realize you’ve forgotten your laptop. You’re greeted with warmth and empathy, an offer to book you into a room for a nap, lots of coffee, and a spare laptop to borrow. Its a place with no judgment: dress how you want, work how you want, and socialize how you want. It is designed to encourage you to move freely between spaces depending on your energy levels, capacity for socialization, and which work space gives the dopamine on that particular day.

How OneSpace Works WITH your ADHD

OneSpace embodies the balance that people with ADHD need to be productive and healthy:

  • A bit of noise, but not too much

  • Open spaces, but with privacy

  • Opportunities for connection, but when you’re ready/able for it

  • Lots of light, but the right kind of light

  • Freedom to wear a dress one day, and slippers/yoga pants the next

  • Flexibility in a work (and childcare!) schedule

  • Healthy snacks for protein, chips/chocolate for dopamine

  • Visually interesting, but not overstimulating

Elizabeth designed OneSpace to work for her, and it has since become a sanctuary and safe space for women, introverts, and neurodivergent people.
